The St. Philip & St. James Christmas Appeal

Last year our Christmas appeal raised several thousand pounds for a basket of charities. This year we have six charities and we will share everything we gather six ways. If you want to support just one of the charities, just click on the appropraite link below.

    Tearfund is a Christian charity that supports churches around the world who serve their communities. We want to support a project they fund in Bangladesh to help communities struggling with the impact of flooding caused by climate change.
  • Cheshire Wildlife Trust. https://www.cheshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/support-us/donate
    The Cheshire Wildlife Trust are raising money to buy land in Cheshire to set aside for re-wilding to address climate change and improve the biodiversity of our county.
  • Embrace the Middle East. https://embraceme.org/
    In response to the refugee crisis which so often dominates our headlines we want to support a project run by churches in Lebanon who minister to the needs of some of the 1.5 million Syrian refugees in that country.
  • The Children's Society. https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/how-you-can-help/donate
    The Children's Society has a proud tradition of supporting children and young people in this country who face the greatest challenges. They are not afraid to help young people who are not always easy to love.
  • The Mothers' Union. https://www.mothersunion.org/
    The Mothers' Union run a number of project that support family life, including working with women who have fled domestic violence. The normally rely on a lot of traditional fund-raising activities which have been badly affected by the pandemic and so we want to support them this year.

    We have almost made it through another tough year financially. We need to raise another £3,500 in order to break even this year which doesn't seem a lot given where we were at the start of the summer, but...
